Donors Choose

Donors Choose is a unique program that allows you to fund proposals for classroom materials, field trips and other needs from teachers at public schools with low-income students. Search by category or keyword, read the teacher's proposal, and donate any amount you can to either partially or fully fund the project. When the project or materials are funded, you will receive personal thank-yous from the students and teachers. You can browse by type of resource needed (e.g., books, supplies, technology, trips, visitors, etc.), the region or subject category (Art & Music, Physical Education, Literacy & History, Math & Science And Beyond) or the cost to complete. You also can give a gift in someone's honor or purchase a gift certificate; you get the tax deduction and they get the thank-yous. The site also allows you to open gift registries, and then invite friends and family to donate to the proposals you recommend.
